Description

Set Generator Tag plugin allows you to change to default Joomla! generator meta tag to anything you like! With this plugin you do not have to modify neither template's nor Joomla!'s core files. Install it, configure it and you are ready!

So far, the most common way to change the generator meta tag is to modify the index.php file of your current template. But if you change template then you will have to modify the new index.php file again. Set Generator Tag does not depend on templates nor it modifies any of their files. Feel free to change as many templates as you want. The generator meta tag will remain intact.

Another way to change the generator meta tag is to modify a Joomla!'s core file. But by doing so you are risking of losing the modification when you upgrade Joomla! to a newer version. No more worries with the Set Generator Tag.

Installation

Instructions for Joomla! 1.5

Step 1: Login to the Administration Panel (http://yourdomain/administrator)

Step 2: Go to the Extension Manager (Extensions → Install/Uninstall)

Step 3: Browse for the downloaded file (1) and once selected press the Upload File & Install button (2) Browse & Install

Step 4: If the installation was successful, you should see something like this

Step 1: Login to the Administration Panel (http://yourdomain/administrator)

Step 2: Go to the Extension Manager (Extensions → Extension Manager)

Congratulations, you have installed the Set Generator Tag plugin. Please move on to the Usage tab for usage instructions.

Step 1: Go to the Plugin Manager (Extensions → Plugin Manager)

Step 2: Find the System - Set Generator Tag entry and click on its name

Step 3: Enable the plugin Enable Plugin

Step 4: Enter the desired text to be displayed on the generator meta tag Enter Tag

Step 1: Go to the Plugin Manager (Extensions → Plugin Manager)

Step 2: Find the System - Set Generator Tag entry and click on its name

Step 3: Enable the plugin Enable Plugin

Step 4: Enter the desired text to be displayed on the generator meta tag Enter Tag

Save the changes, reload your front-end and take a look at the source code of your web page. You should see your text displayed in the generator meta tag.
